RIOD Opens EV Charger Manufacturing Facility at Nedumbassery, Kerala

• New manufacturing subsidiary at Vengoor, Nedumbassery, Kerala, inaugurated by Kailash C S, Director, EV Charging.
• Capacity of around 2,500 chargers a month from day one.
• AC EV chargers from 3.3 kW to 22 kW are manufactured at the facility.

RIOD has worked in EV charging since 2020, supporting charging companies and technology partners around the world with hardware, firmware and software. As those partners have grown, so have the programmes they bring to us. A dedicated production facility gives them shorter lead times and the volume to scale with us.

It also brings our engineering and manufacturing closer together. The same team that designs the electronics, firmware, cloud platforms and payment technology now works hand in hand with the production line, which means faster production, quicker deliveries and fewer handoffs between design and build.

The Nedumbassery facility manufactures AC EV chargers from 3.3 kW to 22 kW, covering home, workplace, apartment and public AC charging.

Alongside these, we offer DC charger development and energy products as OEM and ODM solutions. Partners can bring their own brand to market on proven RIOD hardware and firmware, or work with us to develop a product around their requirements.

For partners who prefer to assemble in their own country, we supply CKD (completely knocked down) and SKD (semi knocked down) kits from the same line. That makes the facility a base for export markets as well as for customers in India.

Whichever model a partner chooses, they work with one team across design, firmware, software and production, from the first sample through to volume supply.

The new facility is part of our broader investment in EV charging technology. That includes custom charging management systems (CMS), the Charger360 platform, energy optimisation, and new work on secure Plug and Charge, including ISO 15118 in charger hardware and an OBD-based approach for cars that do not support ISO 15118.
