OEM and ODM / India

OEM EV Charger Manufacturer in India

Sourcing chargers from India is straightforward. Sourcing them from a manufacturer who can also fix the firmware is the harder requirement.

Sourcing from India covers arrangements ranging from assembly of imported kits through to full design ownership. Which one you are buying determines who is able to diagnose a failure that crosses hardware, firmware and backend. That is worth establishing before the first purchase order rather than after the first field problem.

01

What we manufacture

AC EV charging hardware, designed and built in-house, with the firmware, OCPP implementation and cloud platform developed by the same organisation. Manufacturing is at Kaladi in Kochi, Kerala, with software delivery from Infopark Koratty, Thrissur.

Why buyers source here

  • Local content, where tenders or incentive schemes require domestically manufactured equipment
  • Service turnaround measured in days rather than shipping cycles
  • Engineering access, meaning the people who designed the product will take the call
  • Cost position for AC charging at commercial volumes
  • A path from supplied product to local or licensed manufacturing if that becomes your requirement
03

For Indian buyers

If you are deploying in India, the practical advantages are proximity for service, familiarity with local grid conditions and supply configurations, and equipment that satisfies domestic sourcing requirements where those apply.

Grid conditions matter more than buyers expect. Voltage variation and earthing arrangements differ enough across Indian sites to affect protection design, and equipment specified for a more stable supply does not always cope.

04

For buyers outside India

Most of our engineering customers are not in India. They come for the development and manufacturing capability rather than the location, and their products ship to their own markets under their own certification.

If that is your situation, the relevant pages are the OEM and ODM services rather than this one, which exists for buyers specifically sourcing Indian manufacture.

05

Certification for Indian deployment

We support certification and take products through accredited laboratories for the applicable schemes. Requirements for Indian deployment should be confirmed against current published requirements with the relevant body rather than taken from any general summary, including this one.

06

Manufacturing in India, delivering outside it

Manufacturing here is often read as a cost decision. For the customers we work with it is more often a capability decision, and the two lead to different places.

Our largest transfer programme went the other direction entirely. A European renewables company took our AC platform, had it customised to their form factor, then took the technology across and now builds it in their own market. India was where the engineering and the product came from, not where the units are made.

That is worth stating plainly because it sets what you are actually buying. If you want units, we build them. If you want the ability to build them yourself, that is a different engagement and it is one we have completed rather than one we are describing.

Frequently asked questions

Where are your chargers manufactured?

At Kaladi in Kochi, Kerala. Software is developed at Infopark Koratty, Thrissur.

Can you meet local content requirements?

That depends on the specific scheme and its thresholds. The localization stage required to satisfy a given rule is something we assess against the actual requirement rather than assume.

Do you handle Indian certification?

We support certification and take products through accredited laboratories. Confirm current scheme requirements with the relevant body, since they change.

How does Indian grid variation affect the design?

Voltage variation and earthing arrangement differ enough across sites to affect protection design. Equipment specified for a more stable supply does not always cope, which is a design input rather than an installation problem.
