EV Charging Engineering Support for EPC and MEP Firms
EPC and MEP firms handle the electrical work competently and get caught by the parts that are not electrical: protocol behaviour, platform integration and commissioning that will not complete.
Those are the items that hold a certificate open at the end of a project, and they are rarely in anyone's scope until they become everyone's problem.

The parts that are not electrical
- Chargers that connect to the network and never register with the platform.
- Load management that will not coordinate because units disagree about configuration.
- Sessions that start and stop for reasons the site team cannot diagnose.
- A client platform that was chosen after the chargers were ordered.
- Commissioning records the client's operations team will not accept.
Get the specification right early
Most commissioning problems are specification problems that surfaced late. Requiring demonstrated interoperability with the client's intended platform, at named versions, prevents the situation where compliant equipment will not work together.
Supply assessment before bay count
Measured headroom against the building's real peak, not the nameplate. Whether managed charging is required, and what fallback limit is safe. These determine the installable bay count and they are knowable early at low cost.
Support at commissioning
When units will not come online or load management will not coordinate, message-level diagnosis resolves it. That is not usually available on site, and it is the difference between a project closing and a project stalling.
The design decision that changes your scope most
For an MEP designer the charging load looks like a straightforward addition until the simultaneity assumption is examined, at which point it becomes the largest item in the electrical scope or a modest one.
Apartments are the case where this bites hardest. Utilisation is the highest we see on any AC site and it concentrates overnight, arriving exactly when the building has least headroom. Sized for simultaneous full-rate charging, it drives a supply upgrade. Sized for scheduled charging across the parked hours, it frequently does not.
Establish which basis the client wants before the single line diagram is issued. Changing that assumption afterwards changes the transformer, the switchgear and the cable schedule together.
How we work with you on this
You own the client relationship and we have no interest in going around you. Where an end client contacts us directly on a project you are delivering, we route it back to you.
What we can do is answer technical questions quickly, sit in a client meeting when a specification is being challenged, and put an engineer on site when something is not behaving. That access is the useful part, and it does not come with a sales process attached.
Partnering on tenders
Most of what an EPC or MEP firm needs from a charging supplier arrives during a bid rather than after one.
- A specification that can be met and defended, written to be vendor-neutral where the tender requires it
- Custom features where the client's requirement is not met by anything standard
- Warranty terms that suit the contract you are signing rather than a catalogue default
- A technical answer quickly, including sitting in a client meeting when a specification is challenged
We supply AC chargers, and where a project genuinely needs DC we can design it rather than declining the scope. Saying which one a project needs is usually the first useful conversation.

Frequently asked questions
Do you install?
No. Installation and civil work remain yours. We cover charger behaviour, protocol, platform integration and commissioning support.
Can you help at bid stage?
Yes, and that is where it is most valuable, because charger specification decides what commissioning will look like.
What if the client already chose the chargers?
Then the work is verifying they will do what the design assumes, before they are installed rather than after.
Do you work with any charger brand?
Yes. Diagnosis and integration are brand independent, though access to firmware behaviour affects how far it can go.
